One of Sweden’s greatest jazz singers returns to Fasching with her first album entirely in Swedish, where original songs meet unexpected interpretations of artists such as Cornelis Vreeswijk and Mando Diao.
Rigmor Gustafsson made the long journey from the lush forests of Värmland to the hard asphalt of New York before settling in Stockholm, from where she has conquered Europe. She has toured extensively, collaborated with the likes of The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Jazz Orchestra, and has become one of Sweden’s most acclaimed and well-known names in jazz. She has received numerous awards in Sweden, from three gold records and a Grammy to the Royal Swedish Academy of Music Jazz Prize and P2’s Guldkatten.
In April 2025, Rigmor will release her first album since 2017. The album is her first entirely entirely Swedish record and features unexpected covers of Swedish icons like Cornelis Vreeswijk and Mando Diao, alongside original songs and jazz standards with newly written Swedish lyrics. Join us at Fasching this spring to celebrate the album release of one of Sweden’s great voices in jazz!
