The Tilde Schweitzer Big Band was started in the spring of 2023 and is led by trombonist and arranger Tilde Schweitzer. The debut album “Vintage Lifestyle!” will be released in May 2024, which the big band celebrates with a release concert at Fasching. The album also features Nils Landgren, Emmalisa Hallander and Leo Lindberg as guest soloists and Daniel Bingert as producer.
Despite her young age, Tilde has written for some of the country’s leading orchestras, such as the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bohuslän Big Band, Wermlands Opera’s orchestra, Stockholm Studio Orchestra and the Swedish Mounted Band of the Royal Lifeguards. Her music is often described as inventive and rich in detail, and the jazz tradition can be heard in the arrangements. The passion for big bands has made her a skilled arranger, but also a trombonist, and she has participated in jazz orchestras such as Norrbotten Big Band, Radiojazzgruppen, Bohuslän Big Band and Blue House Jazzorchestra.
The band consists of the younger generation of jazz musicians, which has given the band its uniquely refreshing, yet stylish sound.
