After a sold-out success last year, Tilde Schweitzer Big Band returns to Fasching to recreate a night of classic big band jazz in its rawest form.
Tilde Schweitzer, named Jazz Musician and Rising Star of the Year 2024, is one of Sweden’s youngest and most outstanding big band leaders and arrangers. She has written for some of Sweden’s top orchestras, including the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bohuslän Big Band, and the Wermland Opera Orchestra, and has toured with artists such as Benjamin Ingrosso and David Ritschard.
The newly formed big band released its debut album, Vintage Magazine!, in the spring of 2024, which was named Big Band Album of the Year by LIRA Musikmagasin and nominated for Album of the Year at the Dalecarlia Music Awards. The album also features Nils Landgren, Emmalisa Hallander, and Leo Lindberg.
Featuring a new, hungry generation of jazz musicians, the big band reinterprets last century’s popular music through Tilde’s innovative formats and arrangements—blending the old with the new, surprise guests, and some of the most relevant voices on Sweden’s jazz scene today.
