The evening’s concert will be a tribute to one of our most important jazz musicians – bassist, composer and arranger Georg Riedel. Georg left earthly life in the spring of 2024, but his work for the musical life is gigantic and limitless. Now his daughter Sarah Riedel is invited to Fasching together with a collection of musicians, all of whom also collaborated closely with Georg in various constellations. The concert includes a series of songs from Georg and Sarah’s joint repertoire: A warm moment full of lyricism, comfort and loss, all embraced by Georg’s characteristic, curious melodies and harmonies. A moment of heartfelt wholeness where sadness meets light – crystal clear and safely rooted in both blues, jazz and folk music, with a touch of the avant-garde.
