Rosa Brunello is an Italian bassist and composer who works in the borderland between free improv, rock, dub and South American music.
Born in small Mogliano Veneto, she has lived, played and studied in Berlin, Paris and Amsterdam and developed her sound through travels around the world. She is an inquisitive traveler who likes to go off the beaten track and has toured extensively in South America, Japan, Canada, Egypt and all over Europe.
During her travels she has collaborated with artists such as jazz icon Dee Dee Bridgewater, British-Arab trumpeter Yazz Ahmed, drummer Tommaso Cappellato, jazz saxophonist Chelsea Carmichael and guitarist Enrico Terragnoli.
In 2024, Rosa Brunello released her fifth solo album “Senseless Acts Of Love”. On the album, through the concept of “slow travel”, she wants to encourage a conscious and more sustainable approach to exploring the world and in this way reach a deeper contact with the different cultures that inhabit it.
Now this cross-border sound stylist comes to Fasching together with the band that recorded the last record with. Shouldn’t be missed by anyone who has somehow come into contact with trumpeter Goran Kajfe or drummer Asher Gamedze’s various band constellations.
