Jazz trio Plunge and pianist Bobo Stenson share a long-standing collaboration that has resulted in several tours and concerts across Sweden and Europe, numerous radio-broadcast performances, and two albums. Musically, their collaboration is characterized by s playfulness, presence and close interaction, whether through compositions or collective improvisations.
2025 also marks the 20th anniversary of their first album together, “Plunge with Bobo Stenson”.
Plunge performs collectively improvised, acoustic music. The trio builds their sound on intense interplay, presence, spontaneity, and a highly developed sense of form. They have toured in Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Switzerland, Italy, the UK, and Germany, and have released four albums on the Kopasetic label.
Bobo Stenson is one of Swedish jazz’s major international stars. His trio’s three most recent albums have all been awarded the Swedish Manifest Prize. Some of these albums have also been Grammy-nominated and received OrkesterJournalen’s prestigious Gyllene Skivan award.
