Award-winning singer Luciana Souza pays tribute to some of Brazil’s most popular songwriters together with Vince Mendoza and the Bohuslän Big Band. Fusing traditional Brazilian music and American jazz, Souza puts her deeply personal and colorful stamp on songs from her homeland. Brazilian classics by songwriters such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Edu Lobo, Chico Buarque, Guinga, Djavan, Ivan Lins and Gilberto Gil are performed in Vince Mendoza’s big band arrangement together with one of Sweden’s best big bands, the Bohuslän Big Band.
Together they make Storytellers a musical firework of color and form. LUCIANA SOUZA is one of jazz’s leading interpreters.
