Lena Swanberg

Jazz singer Lena Swanberg, born in Bollnäs, based in Stockholm, has previously released the albums “The Art of Staying Young and Unhurt” and “Sing Me the News” in a musical landscape of pop jazz and singer-songwriter Americana.

Swedish jazz audiences recognize her expressive voice from the big band ASJO, led by Ann-Sofie Söderqvist, and the Radiojazz group, among others.

After a deep dive into the Brazilian bossanova crowd on the critically acclaimed album Lena & Daniel – Amor, with original music in the tropicália spirit, it was finally time to return home to the jazz roots of the Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald vinyls of the childhood home, to botanize among favorite songs from the standard repertoire and the American songbook.

On a snowy February day in 2024, the live recording was done in the legendary Atlantis Studio, and now the album release is celebrated with even more live music!

It was the live recording format that appealed to Lena, who wanted to maximize the musical storytelling and authenticity in the music through contact with the audience. The listener thus plays a leading role in the narration!

On the album “If You Could See Me Now” the playfulness and love of jazz is put into focus, and together with a responsive and stylishly honed quartet, everything flaps like a linen suit in the warm summer evening! Far away from February’s slush, in other words… Warm welcome!
