Well rooted in post-bop, New York-based trumpeter Keyon Harrold is one of the world’s most in-demand musicians, with hip-hop as well as R&B, soul and funk flowing from the horn. A horn with which he portrayed Miles Davis musically in the film about Miles Davis – Miles Ahead – and whose soundtrack won a Grammy. Keyon Harrold a reasonable choice, not least considering his acclaimed record The Mugician, which could be an answer to where the ever-changing Davis had gone musically.
Keyon Harrold was born in Missouri in 1980 and is an experienced studio musician on records with JAY-Z, Beyoncé, Common and 50 Cent to jazz musicians such as Gregory Porter, David Sandborn.
Hailed as “the future of the trumpet” by Wynton Marsalis, Keyon Harrold has toured the world with Marcus Strickland, Jay-z and Cirque Du Soleil. In 2018, Keyon Harrold was here for a visit last time, now this world trumpet player returns to jazz club Fasching with the latest record Foreverland in his luggage.
