Ghosted is the sublimely addictive collaboration between New Zealand guitarist Oren Ambarchi and Fire! musicians, bassist Johan Berthling and drummer Andreas Werliin.
The trio explores the fertile space between 70s ECM jazz, electronic minimalism, African music and formulates its own soundscape where each song builds a deep almost ethereal groove.
Ghosted recorded the debut album in Studio Rymden back in 2018, an album that was released in early 2022 on the legendary Chicago label Drag City, and was praised by the music magazines Mojo and Uncut. The record also ended up high on The Guardian’s best of the year list.
Oren Ambarchi is one of the experimental scene’s most famous musicians, the Swedish bassist Johan Berthling known from top Swedish acts such as Nacka Forum, Fire!, Fredrik Ljungkvist’s Yunkan band, Goran Kajfe’s Subtropic Arkestra and Andreas Werliin from Tonbruket, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Fire! and Langendorf United. Ghosted forms a rare odd trio landscape where everything falls into place.
