Stockholm premiere and record debut at Fasching for Eirik Hegdal’s Eklektisk Samband!
For fifteen years, the saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Eirik Hegdal led the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.
Now Eirik Hegdal has put together a septet consisting of musicians from the Scandinavian improv-jazz scene’s most prominent section. Musician-musician such as Per Texas Johansson, Ole Morten Vågan and Josefin Runsteen, all with an open eclectic mind to operate in all possible musical corners.
The first critically acclaimed album Turnchest was released in May and now Eirik Hegdal’s Eklektisk Samband is coming to Kungsgatan 63.
From a genreless, curious, creative playground, the expression flows from acoustic to electric and seamlessly in between in new sound combinations and grooves. This is fun cosmic trapeze music performed by artists who go from playful to serious to playful again in the space of a few short moments.
Traces of Kate Bush, Alogte Oho, Maria Kannegaard, Altin Gün, Solange, Raymond Scott, Milton Babbitt, Carla Bley and Jimmy Giuffre can be found in this cosmos of the Eclectic Connection.
