Sugarcane & Friends, your new musical living room with joy, pulse and rhythm from the hottest Afro-Caribbean destinations like Barbados, Johannesburg and Lagos.
The DJ crew was created in 2013 by Missdj, Dj Erykah, Aïssa and Sister Justice. These four already established DJs merged their unique styles to create a new super team. Shortly thereafter, Sugarcane became an obvious name on Sweden’s urban music scene.
They have opened for several international acts such as Timaya, Yemi Alade, Magic System, MHD, Linda Pira, Kid Ink, Youssou N’Dour, Alpha Blondy, Spice, Fuse ODG and others. The crew delivers a unique combination of rhythms with roots in the Afro-Caribbean and together they have produced dj mixes for Sveriges Radio, run their own clubs (Sugarcane Saturdays/ Urban Tropics) and they have above all been an important part of the club scene for afrobeats, dancehall and African and Caribbean music. Sugarcane has been behind several successful club concepts and collaborated with various actors, everything from Dramaten, Marie Laveau, Strömterassen, F12 to large festivals.
