World premiere and release concert for debuting duo Annarella & Django!
Flautist Annarella Sörlin (resident in Örebro) and ngoni master Django Diabaté (from Mali, resident in Senegal) present their exciting musical meeting, which will release its debut album “Jouer” at the end of September.
They met in the fall of 2022 when they were both on an extensive European tour with the band Wau Wau Collectif (among other things a talked about concert at Fasching with Mulatu Astatke in the audience).
Annarella and Django immediately discovered that the mix of their widely different instruments (Swedish flute and West African string instrument) created something special and unique. As an inventive musical play across borders and cultures.
So the title for the debut album (for which we have the honor to have a release concert) was obvious to the duo: “Jouer” (play in French).
This is the live premiere for the global duo who will be supported by the three Swedish musicians from Wau Wau Collectif (who also appeared on the album).
Dreamy, playful, swinging and quietly beautiful with traces of both spiritual jazz, Swedish folk tunes and West African melodies. Do not miss!
