On March 21, Jelly Crystal will release his new EP “Delicious Delusional” and celebrate with a long-awaited gig at Fasching in April.
Jelly Crystal is one of Sweden’s most unique and uncompromising artists. With a sound that blurs the boundaries of modern pop – from soulful melodies and glam rock glitter to funky rhythms – and a stage charisma that fills any stage he steps on. After the debut album “Freak Show” (2021), which was praised by international media such as The Line of Best Fit (“A singer with real star power”), Wonderland (“If you’re a David Bowie fan, be sure to check out Jelly Crystal”), and UNCUT (“Starry-eyed debut”), he received the award “Composer of the Year” at the Manifest Gala.
In 2024, he was awarded his second Manifest Prize in the category “Pop of the Year” for the critically acclaimed album “Prince” (2023), at the same time he toured with Seinabo Sey and made an impression in the box with his television debut in På Spåret.
The new EP “Delicious Delusional” offers rockier and rawer tones, while Jelly Crystal’s characteristic sound – rooted in both the nostalgic and the modern – remains intact. Here, harmonies reminiscent of the Beach Boys are mixed with pulsating rhythms that reflect our times. It is a musical world that is as unpredictable as it is captivating.
Support act
Genom Natten
Genom Natten is a duo that offers dreamy soundscapes and grand choruses for broken hearts. With their debut single “I ett annat liv” (“In Another Life”), they have created an atmosphere reminiscent of Twin Peaks and Chris Isaak — dark, beautiful, and ethereal. Behind the project are the successful songwriters and producers Joel Sjöö and Alessandra Günthardt, who are now making music entirely on their own terms and for the first time in Swedish. On March 21, they will release their follow-up single “Förloraren” (“The Loser”), a song about the elusive nature of love, where Alessandra’s voice cuts through the dreamy indie production and straight into the heart.
“It echoes both Nordic melancholy, sun-soaked American West Coast vibes, and a hint of darkness in what we hear. Exciting.” – Per Sinding Larsen, PSL.
