Inventive, contemporary and masterful. These are some of the words that have been used to describe the individual musicians in this “one-of-a-kind” group put together by tenor and soprano saxophonist Bill Evans. The same Evans that we got to know on Miles Davis’ 80s records along with guitarists John Scofield and Mike Stern and bassist Marcus Miller. The same Evans that we know from collaborations with everyone from Herbie Hancock to Willie Nelson and Mick Jagger to Randy Brecker and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Bill Evans has also had a successful solo career for over 30 years and has been to Fasching countless times and continues to innovate.
For Kungsgatan 63, Evans brings along Gary Husband, who belongs to the rare group of musicians who express themselves as naturally as a drummer and as a pianist and keyboardist. His classical roots, his work in improvisation, jazz and fusion – not to mention his time in pop, rock, funk and blues circles – are heard in Gary’s personality. Drummer Keith Carlock has been the bandleader in some of today’s biggest bands with Sting, with Steely Dan and with John Mayer.
Time for a star-studded fusion evening at jazz club Fasching with Bill Evans’ Vansband Allstars! And you are there!
