If there’s one thing Nubiyan Twist from London is good at, it is soaking up different musical genres and baking them together into an organically swinging unit. Ska, soul, funk, reggae, hip-hop, dub and jazz are all part of the musical flow that is Nubiyan Twist.
The musicians in the band met while studying at Leeds College of Music a few years ago. They partied and had fun together and always talked about one day gigging together. When the semester was coming to an end, they finally got around to it and did a joint gig. It turned out so well that they decided to continue. Today the band is led by guitarist Tom Excell.
The debut album Nubiyan Twist came in 2015 and received a lot of attention. Since then, they have also sharpened their live expression and they are now ready to take over the Fasching stage with their new album Find Your Flame.
