Photographs by Thomas Niemi
During the first half of 2024, an exhibition of photos taken by Thomas Niemi will hang on Fasching’s walls. The pictures were taken at Fasching between the years 2013 and 2023.
Thomas visited the jazz club for the first time in the late eighties as a teenager. In 2013, he had the camera with him for the first time and since then it has accompanied him every time he has visited the club. In the exhibition, around thirty black-and-white photos from these concerts will be shown. In the book about Fasching, Thomas has contributed nine pictures.
Thomas works during the day as a controller and takes photographs on the side. Over the years, above all, a passion for recording live music has emerged from a broader photography. Thomas lives in Tyresö.
“It feels really good that the pictures can come home, and maybe bring back some memories for others who were there,” says Thomas Niemi.
The exhibition runs until the summer of 2024.
Welcome to the opening on Wednesday 17 January at 18-20.
