Where deep tradition meets the pulse of the dancefloor – The Zawose Queens make their Fasching debut with a sound that is both ancient and electrifying. Hypnotic polyrhythms, buzzing thumb pianos, and thunderous ngoma drums fuse with electronic textures, creating an explosive meeting of past and future.
Fresh off a stunning performance at Glastonbury 2024, they now bring their high-voltage energy to Stockholm. Their debut album Maisha (2024) was recorded under open skies, on a Zanzibar rooftop and along the Tanzanian coast, where the duo worked with UK producers Oli Barton-Wood and Tom Excell (Nubiyan Twist, Onipa) to craft a sound that blends ancestral melodies with club-driven energy.
Don’t miss the chance to experience their boundary-pushing rhythms live—for the very first time at Fasching!
