Wolfgang Muthspiel Touch

With his latest albums, Wolfgang Muthspiel has established himself as one of contemporary jazz’s foremost guitarists. Now, he returns to Fasching with a newly formed trio featuring New York-based bassist Linda May Han Oh and Benin-born guitarist Lionel Loueke.

Linda May Han Oh has been a key collaborator with jazz icons such as Pat Metheny, Kenny Barron, Joe Lovano, and Dave Douglas. Born in Malaysia and raised in Australia, Linda’s career spans both performances with legendary artists and leadership of her own acclaimed quartet, where her compositional and improvisational skills continue to shine.

Lionel Loueke, a cornerstone of Herbie Hancock’s band, has worked with Avishai Cohen, Angelique Kidjo, Charlie Haden, and Gretchen Parlato, while also pushing musical boundaries with his trio and solo projects.

Together, the trio unites three unique musical voices from three continents in a concert characterized by virtuosity, rhythmic power, and an improvisational dialogue. If musicians can be recognized by a single tone, these three have truly found their own unique expressions.
