Since his solo debut in 1995, New York-born guitarist and composer Jonathan Kreisberg has built a dedicated following. With a unique combination of timeless melodic sensibility and forward-thinking lines and textures, Kreisberg has influenced a generation of musicians.
He has released over ten critically acclaimed albums as a bandleader, including his most recent two: “Capturing Spirits – JKQ Live”, his first live album with his new quartet, and “Kreisberg Meets Veras”, a collaboration with nylon-string virtuoso Nelson Veras.
Beyond his own projects, Kreisberg has worked as a sideman for artists like Joe Locke, Ari Hoenig, Yosvany Terry, Larry Grenadier, and Bill Stewart.
For more than a decade, he played in the band of legendary organ master Dr. Lonnie Smith, who once remarked:
“He is a passionate musician with great vision, and he is constantly in fiery pursuit of innovation.”
This passionate, visionary, and innovative jazz guitarist now returns to Jazz Club Fasching, this time with his quartet featuring pianist Javier Santiago, bassist Luca Alemanno, and drummer Colin Stranahan.
