Elliot Galvin

British pianist and composer Elliot Galvin is one of the London scene’s young colorful artists with four critically acclaimed solo albums and a long list of prestigious collaborations behind him, with Emma-Jean Thackray, Norma Winstone, Marius Neset and Mark Lockheart, to name a few.

In addition to his own trio, Galvin is a member of the Mercury-nominated folk-inspired quartet Dinosaur led by trumpeter Laura Jurd.

As a composer, he has written commissioned works for the London Sinfonietta and Ligeti Quartet, the Aldeburgh Festival, John’s Smith Square and the London Jazz Festival. He also works as a sound artist with installations at art galleries such as  Turner Contemporary Gallery and Contemporary Gallery.

Now this celebrated virtuoso and wayward composer comes to jazz club Fasching with a fresh album behind him. An album that he describes as his most personal to date, composed on his childhood piano and inspired by the gloomy, beautiful childhood landscapes.

“A virtuosic, risk-embracing one-off” – John Fordham, The Guardian
